As a part of the New Evangelization, the Holy Father has encouraged Catholics to engage in various types of online media to proclaim the Good News.  Blogging has become a significant part of that mission; even Father Greg has one!  Below is a list of just a few of the many excellent Catholic blogs out there we recommend for young Catholics who want to learn more about their faith through online sources:

  • Catholic Culture is a blog that touches on a wide variety of topics ranging from Catholic news to the various events and celebrations of the Liturgical Year.
  • American Papist provides a Catholic analysis of current political and religious issues from the perspective of a young Catholic in Washington, DC.
  • Whispers in the Loggia is a weblog that covers a wide range of Church gossip and news.
  • Catholic and Enjoying It! is a blog written by Mark Shea, a popular Catholic writer and speaker.
  • Conversion Diary covers the journey of an atheist who converted to Catholicism, including her perspective on current issues in light of the faith.
  • Ask Sister Mary Martha has a tag line that says it all: “Life is Tough.  But Nuns are tougher.  If you need helpful advice just ask Sister Mary Martha.”
  • Creative Minority Report is another great blog that collects some of the best Catholic stories from around the web.
  • Standing on My Head is a blog written by Fr. Dwight Longenecker, who gives intelligent and witty commentary on contemporary issues
  • Aggie Catholics is one of the most popular Catholic blogs on the web, and is run by the campus ministers of St. Mary’s Catholic Center at Texas A&M.
