Tuesday Night Mass, Dinner and Real World Catholics
Tuesday Night Dinners offer a home away from home by gathering students together for food, fun, and fellowship. The evening starts out at 5:30 PM with the best meal possible – the Eucharist! Students then gather downstairs for announcements and a blessing before a delicious home cooked meal, prepared by student volunteers and paid for by generous donations from local parishes. When the weather is nice, students will gather outside and on the deck to eat and mingle, while others sit in the parlor and all-purpose room to enjoy the meal.
After dinner, there is usually a discussion or a guest speaker that presents a topic relevant to Catholic young adults. Previous speakers have included Fr. Bill Byrne, Msgr. Panke, Sandy McMurtrie (close friend of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta), Msgr. Stuart Swetland, and Tom and Glory Sullivan and the future holds promises of many other exciting speakers! The talks have covered a range of topics including leading a life of prayer, Eucharistic miracles, sexuality in the proper Catholic context, and living as a Catholic in college. The discussions are always very beneficial to students and offer great exposure to Catholic teaching and issues.
